Post 7 : A career-related article

Every summer the fire forests capture the all attention, because in this season they are more frequently. The fire forest not only destroys a lot of tree area, it destroys houses of people that live around the forest too! Actually the development population increases and in the future it is pose a problem, because the amount of people evacuated will increase too. But recently the quality of detected and extinguished methods is better than the past, but the real way for to finish it is the prevention of these.

Spain has spent in a lot of methods for detected the fire forests, but the prevention is abandoned. Even, the “conatos” (when burned less of hectare) and the “fires” (when burned more of hectare) have increase in two spanish communities! And the principal causes are for stubble burning and the burning for to prepare a piece of land for agriculture.

Other factor that affects the fires-combat is the weather condition, for example the dryness for high temperatures in summer and the strong winds difficult this work. And in the future the global warming increases the frequency of these fires.

In my career I had learnt a lot of fires forests, and in general Chile has very good methods for prevention these tragedies. The Forest Corporation (CONAF) implements propaganda for to prevent these tragic successes.

Post 5 : How to avoid killing animals

Hi! Today I’ve saw an interesting video about a great idea from Andras Forgacs! In his video you can hear about bio-fabrication of leather! He explains that all begin from a crazy idea, but isn’t being too mad. We are around seven billion people and we need animal-resources! Actually the science’s incredible and, if it can make parts of human bodies, why not can it do leather or meat from animals?

It’s a fantastic idea, and he says that this method does no harm the animal.

The method consists in take cells from the animal, isolate the skins cells and multiply them! Later, these cells produce collagen. Also this method isn’t necessary to remove hair from the animal, and another thing that I think that is too important that the method don't produce waste.

In general I like the idea that he had, but I don’t know that the vegetarians or vegans people leave their life-habits for this implementation; I said that they chosen these food-habits not only for the animal murder, but with the fact of stop eat meat as such.

Really I think that you must to be aware with your opinions, obviously, but I mean that another day I saw a guy with a leather-bag, and on it he’d put a patch that it said “Animal Liberation” hahaha, he cause me shame!

Post 4 : Climate Change

The scientist says the climate change is caused for humans, and that will be increases if the greenhouse emissions to the atmosphere continue to rise.

Hundred of scientists that researched of climate change emit a new report than says than the temperatures aren’t rise like they expecting. They were waiting a faster change than the result. They explain that, and say than the climate’s natural variability influences in this process, but scientists emphasizes than it is happening, clearly!

We can see effects from this change; for example “ice is melting faster” or “ocean is becoming more acidic”, they implicate to destroy the habitat of a lot of animals!

In my opinion, I think that we don’t have the ability for stop the climate change, but we can minimize it! The carbon dioxide emissions are a natural process, because the entire organisms breathe! But the humans increase it with their cities and technologies. But, with the same capacity we can to apply a process like geoengineering! Or do something more simple, more daily, for example use more efficient cars, or ways to minimized the carbon dioxide, which be rise in the future.

Another important topic than Susan Solomon (professor) notes is the “increased frequency of heat waves”, than it could be implicates others things.

Post 3 : How to stop desertification

Hello classmates! Today I’ll write about an interesting video about desertification in the world. Associated to the video… really I know something about this topic, because lately is a trending topic! but I’m impressing for a lot of things that Allan Savory says. In general I associated the shepherding with damage for the soil, but when you use that of correct and natural way you can transform and to recover a soil.

This topic has a lot of coincidences with my last post! And now I have another opinion with this theme. Something that I’d never imagined is the recover speed: now I want to know more about the nutrient cycle associated at this recover form.

It is a really natural form, and I agree with him when he says that the efficient form for to recover a soil is by natural form. The nature is wise, and the solution always is in the same place where is the problem, I’ve thought that, and is intelligent his work, because its dissemination is faster by the people in the zone. This is important for keep the methodology.

Post 2 : Majors in Forestry

Hi guys, today I’ll write about majors from my career. But I have a problem: In every class (that I like it) I found the topics interesting, and I try to imagine my future in that area: sometimes I like the Ecology, the interaction between a lot of organism with its environment, but actually I’ve interested in Restoration. I don’t know much about it, but its objective is to recover a site by natural ways, for example by biological control for infestation, or by pioneer plants for recover the soil, among others.

I like a lot this area, because keep the balance between the organisms in the Ecosystem means keep the temperature for us and for others animals, also it means keep the home for another organisms, etc!

Really, I've don’t researched about it, but I think that in Chile is probably get a job for this area, because our country need to investigate more for recover the sites damaged for pine-plantation or by mining industry. Nevertheless, I want to get a travel in other country, perhaps Canada, because this country had a lot of studios in the forests.

But really really need to research more, it is only the beginning...

Post 1 : A Country you'd like to visit

Hello! Today I restart the activity in the blog! How are you? I hope that you feel fine.

I begin this new semester writing about a country that I’d like to visit.

I've thought and dreamed about it a lot. I like travelling! and I hope take a trip in all Chile.

But, talking about other countries… I’m interested in knowing New Zealand, why? because the landscapes from this country is really beautiful. I like the nature in general, the mountains, the forests… and New Zealand has a lot biomes.

New Zealand is an island, so it has a lot of endemic animals and kind of plants. Chile has a lot of endemic too! Because our country have natural limits for separate the different species. New Zealand has a lot of endemic birds, and I like so much that.

When I look for a country, I pay attention in the nature from the place. I’m not really good for the meals, so I don’t try to taste a lot of food in another country.

Freak datum-> The Lord of the Rings has been recorded in the beautiful landscapes from New Zealand!
